Quite the opposite, the magura hydro rim brake has less modulation (in a typical trials setup) and more "light switch"-ness. Better for a positive lock-up, and with Mac's crazy skills he doesn't wanna risk a slip on some of the shit he does lol.

lol I have one of the old ones, this one looks nice tho. My handlebar's broke off on the old one I have so it's hard to get straight cut's in my pizza now :(
